Terms of Use
MyBarbell is a free calculator. It gives you arithmetic, not coaching. Lifting weights carries risk of injury, and how you train is your responsibility.
1. Acceptance
By installing or using the MyBarbell app ("the app") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with the usage rules of the app store you obtained it from. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, redistribute, rent, or sell the app, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
3. No medical, coaching, or safety advice
The app calculates how to load a barbell and records numbers you type in. It does not know your training history, injuries, technique, or health, and it does not assess whether a weight is safe or appropriate for you. Nothing in the app is medical advice, physiotherapy advice, or coaching. Always check a loaded bar yourself before lifting it, use collars and a spotter or safety pins where appropriate, and consult a qualified professional about your own training and health.
4. Accuracy
We aim for the plate maths and unit conversions to be correct, but the app is provided without any guarantee of accuracy. Plate weights vary between manufacturers, bars vary from their nominal weight, and the app can only work from the inventory and bar weight you give it. Verify the bar before you lift.
5. Your data
Everything you enter is stored only on your device. We have no copy and cannot recover it for you if you delete the app, lose the device, or clear its storage. Back up your numbers elsewhere if they matter to you. See the Privacy Policy.
6. Availability and changes
The app is provided free of charge. We may change, suspend, or discontinue it, or any part of it, at any time and without notice, and we are not obliged to provide updates or support.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage — including personal injury, loss of data, or indirect or consequential loss — arising out of or connected with your use of the app.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.
9. Apple and Google
These terms are between you and us, not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Neither Apple nor Google is responsible for the app or its content, and neither has any obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the app must comply with the applicable app store's terms of service.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your own country's law.
